The UNLV Rebels (1-0) take a trip to Ann Arbor to visit the Michigan Wolverines (1-0) Saturday. Kickoff from Michigan Stadium is set for 3:30 p.m. (CBS). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the UNLV vs. Michigan odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.
The Rebels are coming off a 44-14 win in Week 1 vs. the Bryant Bulldogs. UNLV’s rushing attack was what propelled them as they ran for 268 yards and 5 TDs. RB Vincent Davis Jr. ran for 79 yards and 1 TD on only 3 carries. The Rebels only had 126 passing yards and starting QB Doug Brumfield completed just 61% of his passes (11 of 18) for 86 yards and 1 INT.
The Wolverines are highly favored for their 2nd-straight game after beating the East Carolina Pirates 30-3. QB J.J. McCarthy impressed in the win, hitting 26 of 30 passes (87% ) for 280 yards and 3 TDs. The RB duo of Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards combined for 110 rushing yards and 1 TD on 22 carries. WR Roman Wilson had 6 catches for 78 yards and 3 TDs.
The Wolverines will be coached by defensive coordinator Jesse Minter as coach Jim Harbaugh serves the 2nd game of his 3-game suspension.

UNLV at Michigan picks and predictions
Prediction
Michigan 35, UNLV 10
Moneyline
PASS.
The Wolverines will win here, but as (-10000) favorites the line is not worth the juice. Bet on the spread and/or total instead.
Against the spread
LEAN UNLV +37.5 (-110).
While the Wolverines will pick up the blowout win here, I’m not sure they’ll be able to cover as a 37.5-point favorite. UNLV is a very run-heavy team and that will likely lead to some long drives for them. Those long drives will keep the ball out of Michigan’s hands, making it hard for them to score enough points to cover.
Over/Under
BET UNDER 57.5 (-115).
Michigan’s defense allowed nothing vs. the Pirates last week, and I expect that trend to continue vs. a very 1-dimensional UNLV offense. The Rebels showed last week they have no intentions of trying to punish teams through the air, which will make them easy to defend. With both teams preferring to be dominant on the ground, there will likely be a lot of long drives, making it hard for this game to hit the over.
