TWENTYMAN: 5 stats that stand out following Lions’ Week 6 victory
What it means: Lions’ average rushing yards per game, which ranks fourth in the NFL
Twentyman: What’s making Detroit so dangerous offensively right now is the way Goff is playing in the passing game, and also how the Lions have rushed the football consistently all season. Only Baltimore (205.3), Green Bay (167.2) and San Francisco (158.0) average more rushing yards per game than the Lions. Detroit’s averaging at least four-plus-yards per run on 50.3 percent of their rushes, which also ranks fourth in the NFL, and their 24 runs of 10-plus yards is Top 10 in the league.
What it means: Opponent passer rating inside the 30-yard line
Twentyman: The three most important statistics in football are turnovers, third-down percentage and red-zone efficiency. Opponents are finding it tougher and tougher in the passing game the closer they get to Detroit’s end zone. When inside the 30-yard line, opposing passers have completed just 18-of-39 attempts with three touchdowns and four interceptions with that 41.6 rating, which is the lowest in the NFL.
The Lions rank in the Top 10 in the NFL in red-zone efficiency with opponents scoring a touchdown less than half of the time (46.7 percent).

Detroit-area man who was stabbed by girlfriend charged with home invasion, assault
MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) – A Royal Oak man is facing multiple charges, including home invasion and assault after he was stabbed by his girlfriend.
Jonah Lowe, 25, of Royal Oak, is charged with first-degree home invasion, assault with intent to do great bodily harm, assault with a dangerous weapon, firearm discharge at or in a building causing injury, unlawful imprisonment, and five counts of felony firearm.
He was arraigned on Monday and received a $1 million bond.
The Madison Heights Police Department responded to the 27000 block of Delton Street on Saturday after Lowe called 911 and reported that he had been stabbed in the neck by his girlfriend.
However, police received a second 911 call from a woman, who identified herself as Lowe’s ex-girlfriend and said that Lowe shot her. Responding officers found the woman with a gunshot wound to the leg. She told police at the scene that she stabbed Lowe out of self-defense.
The woman was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
An investigation found that Lowe entered the woman’s home and allegedly hid there until she returned. He approached her as she walked in with her 2-year-old daughter and pointed a gun at her, according to a news release.
Police said Lowe allegedly refused to let the woman leave, to which she grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him when he was distracted. The woman then ran out of the house with her daughter and Lowe allegedly fired a shot, striking her in the leg. She was able to get to a neighbor’s house, and Lowe fled to her home in Royal Oak.
He was taken into custody and was transported to hospital for treatment.

WATCH: Jared Goff sends strong message in locker room speech after Cowboys win
Last Detroit Lions game, coach Dan Campbell forgot to give quarterback Jared Goff a game ball, as he hadn’t realized Goff finished the game a perfect 18-of-18 against the Seattle Seahawks. He wasn’t going to make the same mistake this week after the Lions’ 47-9 spanking of the Dallas Cowboys.
“I do have two game balls, and this time I wrote down some stats,” Campbell told the locker room.
He proceeded to give the balls to safety Brian Branch and Goff.
Branch finished the game with two interceptions, one forced fumble and a quarterback hit. Goff was 18-of-25 for 315 yards and three touchdowns.
But when Goff got his game ball, he gave it right back to Campbell in an awesome gesture to his head coach.
“Our fucking head coach is our fucking rock now,” Goff said. “We’re in fucking Dallas in his fucking place where he played. Game ball goes to him.”
It’s a really neat gesture, and I think it speaks to Campbell’s overall impact in the locker room. The team certainly has an emotional hole to fill following the significant injury to Aidan Hutchinson, but I don’t think anyone is anticipating the team taking a motivational step back in his absence. Campbell has a unique ability to turn negative moments into future inspiration.
Goff then proceeded to make Campbell break down the locker room. With an almost embarrassed smile on his face, Campbell accepted.
“How about a little, ‘kick ass’ on three?”
This team is special, y’all.
