New Jersey Homeowner Earns Jeopardy Tournament of Champions Slot
Since Jeopardy first debuted as a syndicated show in 1984, it has become the most award-winning game show in television history. For the last forty years, Jeopardy has established itself as one of the iconic TV Game Shows in Americana.
But it’s not every day that you see someone from New Jersey make a run on the popular TV Game Show. Jeopardy’s biggest winners like Ken Jennings (Washington), Amy Schneider (California), Brad Rutter (Pennsylvania/California), and James Holzhauser (Nevada), are not associated with The Garden State.
However, New Jersey residents have won the tenth most money on TV Game Shows all time. On the list of the 300 Biggest Winners of the big five game shows (Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Who Wants to be a Millionare, The Price is Right, Deal or No Deal), NJ residents total winnings combined for $365,446.
This South Jersey Homeowner Just Had His Own Jeopardy Run
After his six-game winning streak on Jeopardy and accumulating $100,202, Joshua Weikert has earned the opportunity to compete in the 2026 “Jeopardy!” Tournament of Champions.
Weikert, a Stone Harbor Homeowner, is an Immaculata University Professor who also serves as a Pennsylvania House of Representatives Policy Adviser and Army Reserve officer.
When he receives his check for the month he won on Jeopardy, he will be giving 10 percent of the winnings to The Weikel Memorial Scholarship Fund. Established in memory of Joshua Weikert’s friend and US Marine Corp Veteran, Jarrad Weikel.
The Tournament of Champions will be filmed in December and air on Television in January 2026. So, audiences will have to wait several months before we find out how Weikert performs against other Jeopardy winners.

How Common is Burglary in New Jersey
The majority of crimes in New Jersey are property crimes like burglary and vehicle theft. In 2021, NJ residents reported 103,761 property crimes.
This breaks down to a property crime rate of 11 crimes per 1,000 residents.
Though this crime rate is below the national average, you still have a 1-in-89 chance of becoming a victim of property crime. Criminals in New Jersey often target homes to steal electronics, jewelry, and other expensive items.
Reconsider Where You Are Hiding Your Valuables
I hope you are never the victim of a burglary, but if you are, at least you can make it a little harder for a crook to find your valuables.
Reader’s Digest recently talked with Chris McGoey of McGoey Security Consulting and Robert Siciliano, a security analyst with Hotspot Shield.
Using information from these two experts, the magazine determined that these are the 10 spots burglars are most likely to check.

ATLANTIC CITY (WABC) — A mom from New Jersey brought home more than flowers for Mother’s Day, raking in a jackpot worth over a hundred thousand dollars at a casino in Atlantic City over the holiday weekend.
Jacqueline B, a mom from Toms River, NJ, placed a $5 bet on a Dragon Link slot machine at Ocean Casino Resort on Saturday.
She hit the jackpot, winning $101,566.53 to be exact.
The jackpot paid out $101,566.
Jacqueline hasn’t yet revealed how she plans to spend her newfound cash.
