Democratic Rep. Katie Porter of California stated Tuesday she is going to search the U.S. Senate seat at present held by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, a fellow Democrat and the oldest member of the chamber.

“Particularly in occasions like these, California wants a warrior in Washington,” Porter stated in a video posted on Twitter. “That’s precisely why I’m saying my candidacy for the US Senate in 2024.”

Porter, who was first elected to Congress in 2018, stated she has “challenged the established order” in Washington, taking up “large banks,” Wall Road and the pharmaceutical business. She needs to ban members of Congress from inventory buying and selling.

“To win these fights, it’s time for brand spanking new management within the U.S. Senate,” she stated.

Feinstein, 89, has confronted questions on her age and well being and whether or not she is going to search one other time period. She has not introduced whether or not she is going to search reelection in 2024.
