San Jose State won its MWC opener last week by holding off visiting New Mexico for a 35-28 victory. The Spartans never trailed as Walker Eget finished 26-of-30 passing for 334 yards and three touchdowns and Steve Chavez-Soto ran for 71 yards and two scores on 14 carries. Danny Scudero hauled in four passes for 151 yards and a TD and Jalen Bainer had two of San Jose State’s three interceptions. The Spartans have won the last three meetings against the Cowboys, including a 24-14 win at home last season.

Wyoming fell behind 24-3 at halftime and never recovered, falling to visiting UNLV 31-17. The Cowboys committed three turnovers, losing despite allowing just 255 yards of total offense. Kaden Anderson threw for 254 yards with a touchdown and a pick and Deion DeBlanc had a rushing score. Thirteen different receivers caught passes, with Justin Erb grabbing a TD reception. Wyoming lost its third straight game and is 0-1 in the conference.
