Meghan Markle made a surprise appearance at Kerry Washington’s birthday celebrations.
Jessica Alba, 43, shared a video of the girls’ night via Instagram on Friday, January 31, where eagled-eyed followers spotted the Suits alum.
In her blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance in the video, Markle, 43, can be seen sitting alongside Washington, 48, and several other women as Alba makes her way to the table holding plates of donuts decorated with birthday sparklers.
The video also showed the Duchess of Sussex cheering on Washington as everyone sang “Happy Birthday” to the Scandal actress.
Alba explained in the Instagram post that the women had come together to celebrate Washington’s birthday with a manifestation ceremony that aimed to help them “release what no longer serves us” and become more in tune with their “third eye.”
“Happy Born Day to my girl @kerrywashington 🥳🎂 There’s nothing like that fill your cup type of girls night 💗 Under the energy of the #NewMoon in Aquarius ♒️, we came together for a beautiful ceremony led by Jill, founder of @spiritdaughter 🌑✨” Alba wrote via Instagram. “New moons are a time for fresh starts, setting intentions, and calling in new possibilities—and this night was just that. We connected, manifested, released what no longer serves us, and tapped into our power and highest vibration 💫🧘🏽♀️🪷”
She added, “Feeling extra grateful – to more nights like these ✨🫶🏽”
Baby2Baby CEO Kelly Sawyer, Jen Kroog Rosenberg, the CEO of marketing for Jessica’s company The Honest Company, and Shahed Fakhari Larson, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer for Coatu were also among the guests in attendance at the manifestation ceremony.
Washington shared her appreciation for the special day in the comments section of Alba’s Instagram post.
“Such a beautiful way to start the new year!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you @jessicaalba @spiritdaughter!!!!!!!” she wrote.
Jenna Dewan, 44, also appeared to have attended the event, commenting, “Best night 🥹✨❤️ thank you @jessicaalba @spiritdaughter !!”
It comes after Alba’s split with her husband of 16 years, Cash Warren, 46, was made public on January 8.
A week later, the actress confirmed they had separated and were preparing to divorce via her social media.
“I’ve been on a journey of self-realization and transformation for years — both as an individual and in partnership with Cash,” Alba wrote via Instagram on January 16. “I’m proud of how we’ve grown in our marriage over the last 20 years and it’s now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals.”
Meanwhile, Markle has been busy this year with charitable pursuits. She and husband Prince Harry, 40, rolled up their sleeves to lend a hand to those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires earlier in January.

Week Ahead in Washington: March 1
WASHINGTON (Gray DC) – Operation “Epic Fury” — the weekend military operations carried out by the U.S. and Israel against targets in Iran — tops the agenda for Congress as lawmakers return to Washington.
Sunday, President Donald Trump said the new leadership in Iran wants to talk to the Trump Administration.
Democrats in both chambers called for Congress to return as soon as possible for classified briefings on Iran, followed by a move to vote on the War Powers Act. The Constitution gives Congress the power to declare war on another country.
Congress’ return to Washington was originally delayed due to the start of the 2026 midterm elections cycle.
Tuesday, voters in Arkansas, North Carolina and Texas head to the polls for primary elections.
North Carolina and Texas are drawing significant attention, as both states are facing congressional redistricting and competitive primary races for Senate seats.
In Texas, incumbent Sen. John Cornyn (R) is facing primary challenges from state Attorney General Ken Paxton and Rep. Wesley Hunt. On the Democratic side, Rep. Jasmine Crockett is facing state Rep. James Talarico.
In North Carolina, candidates are vying to replacing retiring Sen. Thom Tillis (R) . They include former Governor Roy Cooper (D) and former Republican National Committee Chair Michael Whatley.
Also this week, the Rev. Jesse Jackson is laid to rest. He will be honored Wednesday in Washington before a final memorial service Saturday. Jackson died Feb. 17.
