Wrong-way driver dies after crashing into semitruck in Tooele County

TOOELE, Utah — A wrong-way driver died after crashing right into a semitruck about 15 miles east of Wendover at 3 a.m. Saturday.

Utah Freeway Patrol received reviews of a wrong-way driver headed east on a westbound lane of I-80 in Tooele County.

Troopers stated the passenger automobile struck a semitruck pulling a trailer and the motive force of the wrong-way automobile was killed.

The semitruck driver was handled for minor accidents and there have been no different occupants in both automobile. Utah Freeway Patrol stated a second passenger automobile sustained harm after hitting particles that within the highway.

Police suspect the wrong-way driver was impaired, however the reason for the crash is being investigated, in keeping with the Division of Public Security.
