23 injured in Utah tour bus crash as snowstorm pelts region

TREMONTON, Utah (AP) — A tour bus crashed in northern Utah on Monday morning, injuring 23 passengers as snowstorms slickened the roads all through the area.

The Salt Lake Specific bus en route from Boise, Idaho to Salt Lake Metropolis, Utah had 33 passengers aboard. At about 4:30 a.m., its driver misplaced management whereas switching lanes, inflicting the bus to slip and flip onto its aspect, Utah Freeway Patrol mentioned in an announcement.

The freeway patrol mentioned that of the practically two dozen injured, just one passenger was being handled for life-threatening accidents as of Monday afternoon. Intermountain Bear River Valley Hospital mentioned they’d processed 19 of the injured passengers and despatched seven in critical or important situation elsewhere. Nearly all of passengers despatched to the neighborhood hospital had been being handled for minor accidents, Intermountain spokesperson Jess Gomez mentioned.

The neighborhood hospital positioned in Tremonton, about 67 miles (108 kilometers) north of Salt Lake Metropolis, has no trauma unit.

Non-injured passengers had been transported to a close-by armory in Garland, Utah.
