Who is posting the squirrel flyers in Seattle?
Squirrel flyers go viral in Seattle
Posters featuring a mysterious squirrel have been popping up throughout Seattle, and the internet has some burning questions.
SEATTLE – Who is the Seattle Squirrel Watcher?
What we know:
Squirrel-related flyers popping up around Seattle are going viral online, and FOX 13 Seattle is talking to the “person” behind them.
For the last six months, posters throughout the city have been garnering a lot of attention.
Each of the bulletins has a different message, but the topic is always the same: squirrels.
And each of these flyers are linked to the same Instagram account: “SquirrelWatchingSeattle.”
One pamphlet reads, “Looking for love. I am a single squirrel looking for an eligible lady squirrel.”
Another flyer asks the community to prank their neighbors by putting acorns under the hoods of their cars.
The handout that has likely gotten the most attention promotes a service where the Squirrel Watcher will come to your house, dressed up as a squirrel, and you can feed them peanuts.
“I’ve seen one at least on every single lamp post down here,” said Jamesen Shoptaw. “I think it’s funny. I wish I could see more of them,” he added.
Most of the people who we spoke to in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood were aware of the Squirrel Watcher flyers, but the message is spreading more than just on the street.
Thousands of people have seen the different posts on Reddit and Instagram, and some have hundreds of comments.
“I feel like it deserves more,” said the Squirrel Watcher.
FOX 13 Seattle directly messaged the person behind the Instagram account to talk about the flyers.
They tell us, since August, they have posted more than 1,000 posters.
Shoptaw tells FOX 13 Seattle he hopes the Squirrel Watcher keeps up their work.
“I was having a hard time last week and seeing them made me laugh. It was really good,” he said.

Here, Kitty, Kitty: Scenes from POP Cats Seattle 2026
A whimsical world of whiskers, creativity, and community took over Seattle Center this weekend as POP Cats 2026 returned for a celebration of all things feline. The immersive convention turned the Exhibition Hall into a vibrant ‘cat city,’ complete with colorful art installations, interactive exhibits and endless photo ops. From adoptable rescue cats and hands-on workshops to cosplay, shopping, and meetups with fellow cat lovers, the event blended fun with purpose. Attendees could even bring their own cats, making it one of the few conventions where pets are part of the experience. Felines and their human friends embraced a joyful, cat-filled escape and one meow-velous weekend in Seattle. (Image: Elizabeth Crook / Seattle Refined) April 18, 2026{ }

WEST SEATTLE WEATHER: Warm day, but far below record
Thanks to Carrie Brown for the westward view of our Saturday night sunset. The high today hit 68 at the airport – eight degrees above normal – but nowhere near the record for this date, which was 89 degrees back in 2016. The forecast suggests two more days of partly sunny, almost-70-degree weather, before the chance of rain returns.
