PIANO TUNES @ THE KENNEY: Weekly piano music at The Kenney (WSB sponsor) had a St. Patrick’s Day theme, in accordance with this reader report:

John Van Lierop, Jr., from West Seattle, performed Irish songs on the piano for the Reminiscence Care residents (together with his 101-year-old Father) at The Kenney at this time. John performs old-time piano music of the ’30s, ’40s, each Friday. He notices that the faces of the residents gentle up when he begins to play acquainted songs and a few even sing. The 2 favorites at this time have been “My Wild Irish Rose” and “When Irish Eyes are Smiling.” John has been working a piano studio for over 50 years on Gatewood Hill and has been the organist at Tibbetts United Methodist Church in West Seattle for 42 years!
