Man arrested for burglary near University Village in Seattle

SEATTLE — A person was arrested for a theft close to the College Village on Tuesday, stated the Seattle Police Division.

Police responded to a theft at gunpoint at 4:30 p.m. within the 3000 block of Northeast forty fifth Road.

Police spoke with a 41-year-old loss prevention worker of a neighborhood grocery retailer who believed he was threatened with a gun.

The worker stated he noticed a person disguise merchandise and attempt to depart the shop with out paying.

The worker stated the 33-year-old man tried to shoplift greater than $70 {dollars}’ value of merchandise. The worker then confronted the person and requested him to return the stolen gadgets.

When the person refused, the worker tried to get the merchandise again. Through the confrontation, the person implied he had a gun.

A close-by witness, promoting Lady Scout cookies together with her daughter, stated she thought the person had a gun. She advised police she instantly grabbed her daughter and ran for security.

Officers recovered a gun-shaped lighter from the scene.

Officers checked the world and located the person.

The person was arrested for theft and booked into King County Jail.
