Storms further delay rail repair between Orange County, San Diego
The latest collection of California storms has additional delayed the restore of the rail line between Orange County and San Diego.
Crews have been working since final fall to shore up the tracks alongside the San Clemente shoreline.
Erosion in that space pressured Amtrak and Metrolink to cease service. The railway was purported to reopen in February 2023, however now with the latest rains, crews say it is going to probably be March earlier than trains are working once more.
The Amtrak Pacific Surfliner and Metro Orange County strains are affected.
