San Diego is not making serious effort to enforce camping ban

San Diego’s mayor and City Council need to get off their butts and out of their offices and see for themselves how many homeless people are still living in tents on the sides of the streets, especially on weekends. I was downtown on a recent Saturday and at the intersection of 15th Street and Interstate 5, there was an encampment with five tents and a lot of trash. There was a naked man squatting and going to the bathroom. I also saw tents along Imperial Avenue and in a parking lot by Petco Park. The next day, I saw more encampments on Moreno and in Old Town.

I feel that the camping ban is not being enforced much and that the mayor and council aren’t doing enough to help the homeless by providing resources and mental health services.
