Where to celebrate Pride in Oregon this summer

Pride season is almost upon us. As the weather gets warmer, local celebrations for Oregon’s LGBTQ+ communities are gearing up.

Celebrations range from parades to festivals to brunch and much, much more, and they can be found throughout the state, every month of the summer. Looking to celebrate for over three full months? Here’s how!

Hood River, May 30-June 30

Hood River will kick off Pride month with a festival, burlesque show, drag brunch, queer dance party and more at the Hood River Hotel. The hotel will also host a drag story time and the Columbia Gorge Pride Alliance Youth Ball. Some events are free, others are ticketed. Yachats, June 2-4

Yachats Pride is appropriately themed “Under the Sea” for 2023. Spend a weekend by the sea, enjoying drag bingo, a second chance prom, a BBQ with live music and more. All events are free. For more information, visit yachatspride.org.

Hillsboro, June 3

Hillsboro will host its annual Pride Party from noon to 5 p.m. at Jerry Willey Plaza at Orenco Station Plaza on Saturday, June 3. This free event will feature craft vendors, community partners, food trucks, activities and live music. For more information visit hillsboro-oregon.gov.

Corvallis, June 3

Corvallis will host “Secret Garden Ball,” a Pride month prom and “queer music showcase.” The prom, which is open to all, will start at 7 p.m. at Corvallis Community Center. Tickets are a $5 to $20 suggested donation at the door. Astoria, June 4-11

Celebrate Pride in Astoria with dance parties, cocktail parties, a trivia night, a parade, a block party and brunch. Some events are free and some are ticketed. For more information, visit facebook.com/AstoriaOregonPride.

Bend, June 4-24

Out Central Oregon has a full month of activities on the docket, including a roller dance party, drag show, group hike, group paddle, and so much more. For more information visit outcentraloregon.com/pride.

Pendleton, June 9 and 17

PFLAG Pendleton will host a drag show and a BBQ to celebrate Pride in June. Tickets for the “Let Er Drag” story on June 9 are $10. The family-friendly BBQ will happen at Pioneer Park on June 17 at 3 p.m. For more information, visit facebook.com/PFLAG.Pendleton.

Tigard, June 10

Tigard will celebrate Pride month with a parade, which anyone can join, followed by a festival with food, music and vendors. The parade begins at 2 p.m. at Tigard Towne Square and ends at Tigard High School. Visit tigard-or.gov/explore-tigard/pride-celebration for more information.

Salem, June 17

Salem has a full day of events set to celebrate Pride in Oregon’s capital. All events, including a march, multiple dance parties, yoga and performances, will take place in downtown Salem. The festivities run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and more information can be found at allevents.in/salem/pride-march-and-salem-downtown-pride/200024499166536.

Albany, June 24

Albany’s Pride celebration will include a rally and a march, as well as a festival with live performances, music, food and activities in front of the Linn County Circuit Court from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit eventeny.com/events/albany-pride-2023-4946.

Beaverton, June 25

The sixth annual Beaverton Pride will include a parade, Sir Cupcake’s queer circus, vendors and a food court at City Park and the Farmer’s Market. The parade starts at 11 a.m. and the ABBA cover band starts at 3:30 p.m. Find out more at pridebeaverton.org.

Portland, July 15-16

Portland decided earlier this year to push Pride to July so it wouldn’t be on the same weekend as other events like Juneteenth and Father’s Day. The new date will likely mean warmer weather for the parade and festival at Waterfront Park. The festival has a $10 suggested donation but watching the parade, which will take place on July 16, is free. More information is available at portlandpride.org.

Eugene, Aug. 12

Pride starts late in the southern Willamette Valley with EugPride in the Park starting at 10 a.m. in Alton Baker Park. This is a free, all-day event and you can find more information at eugenepride.org.

Seaside, September

Seaside Pride will celebrate its second year with a parade in September. Details still to be determined. Visit prideinseaside.com/events for the latest information.
