In total, Oregon’s nonconference slate features five teams that qualified for last season’s NCAA Tournament in Auburn, Baylor, California Baptist, South Dakota State and UC Irvine.
The Ducks will tip off the 2024-25 basketball season on Monday, November 4th, against California Baptist, a program that made its first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history last season. The Ducks will welcome Nevada for their second game of the season on November 6th.
Oregon will then face one of the most dominant women’s basketball programs in the nation in Baylor on November 10th. The Bears have won three national championships and nine Big Twelve conference championships, including four straight titles from 2012 to 2019.
Ducks will welcome Grand Canyon (Nov. 18), Auburn (Nov. 20), Washington State (Dec. 4), Air Force (Dec. 17) and UC Irvine (Dec. 19) to Eugene.
The two away games on the nonconference schedule are when Oregon flies to the Hawai’i North Shore Showcase in Laie, Hawai’i. The Ducks face Georgia Tech on Monday, Nov. 25 and finish the three-team tournament the following day against South Dakota State.
The Ducks’ Big Ten schedule will be announced at a later date with start times and broadcast information.
Graves is entering his 11th season as the head coach of the Ducks and 27th season leading a Division I program.
“We’re gonna bring a lot to the Big Ten,” Graves said to the Big Ten Network. “We’re excited about joining but I think people are kind of intrigued a little bit and excited about going to Eugene and seeing what the University of Oregon is about.”
“It’s gonna be a challenge,” Graves said. “But I’m looking forward to it. Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? I’m gonna have to be ready for it because it gonna be a heck of a conference.”
The Ducks are looking to turn it around in 2024. Last season, the Ducks had a challenging season, finishing 11-21 with a record-breaking 14 consecutive losses.
During the offseason, Graves retooled by adding seven transfers to the team.
Salimatou Kourouma, Amina Muhammad, Ari Long, Nani Falatea, Alexis Whitfield, Elisa Mevius, and Deja Kelly will all play for Oregon in the 2024 season.

Neighbor accused of killing missing Oregon newlywed nurse makes first court appearance
An Oregon man accused of killing a nurse reported missing days after returning home from her wedding made his first court appearance on Monday.
The Beaverton Police Department arrested Jonathan Bryce Schubert, 27, who authorities say was a neighbor to Melissa Jubane, 32, whose body was found days after she was reported missing when she failed to show up for her shift at work.
Officials said Schubert is charged with second-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, and second-degree abuse of a corpse. He is being held without bail at the Washington County jail due to the murder charge.
Schubert appeared on video during Monday’s hearing and did not enter a plea during his arraignment, according to KATU News.

Officials said that as a result of an extensive investigation, it was determined that Schubert was involved in her disappearance.
FOX 12 reported that Schubert worked as a nurse at Providence Portland Medical Center from September 2022 to October 2023. However, Schubert was not employed at Providence St. Vincent, where Melissa worked, Providence said in a statement Saturday morning.
Beaverton police confirmed on Saturday that the remains of Jubane were found following a three-day search and just two weeks after she tied the knot with Bryan Llantero, a native of Kalihi, Hawaii.

“While we acknowledge the significant community interest and concern, we must withhold further details to preserve the integrity of the investigation,” the statement continued.
Jubane’s family declined to comment on the investigation, but provided a statement to KATU News.

The Oregon Nurses Association (ONA) also released a statement and offered full support to anyone suffering from Jubane’s death.
“The Oregon Nurses Association is devastated by the loss of Melissa Jubane, an extraordinary nurse at St. Vincents Hospital and a member of the Oregon Nurses Association. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family, friends, and colleagues of Melissa during this incredibly difficult time. Oregon State Broke A 48-Year-Old Program Record In Week 2 Win at San Diego State
The Oregon State Beavers picked up their first road win of the Trent Bray era of Saturday with a 21-0 shutout against San Diego State.
“I thought they did a great job making them earn everything, just keeping the ball in front of us,” said Oregon State head coach Trent Bray after the win. As the Beavers former defensive coordinator, the nature of the win was no doubt a point of extra pride for Bray.
The Beaver defense allowed just seven total first downs against the Aztecs and held them to two third-down conversions on 12 attempts. That allowed OSU to dominate the time-of-possession, holding the ball for 41 minutes.
Also adding to the significance of the win was the length of time a win like this actually happened for the Beavers. the last time that Oregon State shutout an opponent in a road win, the year was 1976. OSU beat Hawaii 59-0 in Honolulu that season.
In general, their last road shutout was at Oregon in 1983, but that chapter of the storied rivalry ended in a 0-0 tie. Now, the Beavers prepare for the latest chapter of their rivalry with Oregon: this Saturday 14 at Reser Stadium. Kick off is scheduled for 12:30 PM PT on FOX.

Oregon newlywed nurse allegedly killed by neighbor planned to move out: report
A nurse allegedly murdered by her Oregon neighbor just two weeks after getting married had plans to move out to be with her long-distance husband in Washington state, her family shared.
Police recovered the remains of Melissa Jubane, 32, on Friday evening after a three-day search that ended in the arrest of her 27-year-old neighbor, Bryce Johnathan Schubert, who was charged with second-degree murder.
The newlywed was reported missing on Wednesday after failing to show up to her morning shift at St. Vincent Hospital in Southwest Portland. Her coworkers requested a wellness check on her, but police didn’t find any signs of her at her apartment.
Jubane married her husband Bryan Llantero, of Hawaii, on the island of Honolulu on Aug. 24 and had just returned to Oregon before she vanished.
The newlyweds first met in Hawaii and dated for over a decade, flying back and forth to see each other. Llantero had last heard from his new wife the morning she went missing, according to KHON.
Jubane would stay in her Oregon apartment because of its close proximity to her workplace while Llantero stayed in Washington state with Melissa’s family, her mother-in-law Imelda Llantero told the local news station.
But after tying the knot, Jubane planned to look for a job in Washington so she could live with her new husband, Imelda Llantero said.
Since her alleged murder, family members have taken to social media to advocate for justice and preserve her memory.
Jax Marquez, one of Jubane’s cousins, has turned to dedicating parts of her social media to her, including changing her profile picture to read “Justice for #melissajubane.”
“She has the sweetest soul in the world and I wanted to be able to create a space for those that had any interactions with her, those that knew her, had really close relationships with her, just anybody that has sweet memories of her,” Marquez said in a post on Instagram.
Jubane’s father also expressed his heartbreak online.
“I’m in so much pain right now for you my daughter Melissa Jubane. As promised by the Beaverton Police Authorities to us, your justice will be done soon,” Valentin Jubane, Melissa’s father, wrote in a post on Facebook.
“I have trust in our God The Almighty and His only son our Lord God Jesus Christ. You are loved by so many good people around the world.”
Another one of Melissa’s cousins, Onilobes Allan, urged politicians to protect potential victims from bad actors.
“[…] our government need[s] to protect [people like Melissa] so we can have a chance to live in peace and have happiness in the world but unfortunately got taken advantage and was killed by someone that is very evil. I’m asking the government to make laws that protect good citizens,” he wrote in a post on Facebook.
