Oregon State, Oregon men’s golf contend for NCAAs after regional 1st round

Oregon State and Oregon put themselves in contention for an NCAA men’s golf tournament berth Monday after competitive first-round performances during regional competition.

Oregon State shot an 11-under 277 to tie for eighth of 14 teams at the NCAA Las Vegas regional at Bear’s Best. The Beavers are one stroke out of fifth, a key target as the top five teams after 54 holes advance from regionals to the NCAAs, May 24-29 in Scottsdale, Ariz.
