Lake Oswego’s Mia Brahe-Pedersen comes within milliseconds of setting new Oregon state record

Lake Oswego junior Mia Brahe-Pedersen got here extremely near setting a brand new state document within the ladies 200-meter sprint on Friday morning on the Oregon Relays in Eugene.

Brahe-Pedersen completed the occasion, simply the third of the day, with a time of 23.01 seconds. The state document, which is a tie between Brahe-Pedersen and Churchill’s Margaret Johnson-Bailes (set in 1968), is 22.95. Brahe-Pedersen matched the document final August whereas competing on the World Athletics U20 Championships in Cali, Colombia.

In second place within the ladies 200-meter sprint on Friday was Tigard’s Victoria Forst, who completed in 25.12. Mountainside’s Olivia Hicks was third in 25.44.
