51 fallen officers honored at southern Nevada law enforcement memorial service

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — In recognition of Nationwide Police Week, a number of regulation enforcement businesses gathered to pay tribute to native officers who’ve died within the line of responsibility Thursday.

51 officers had been honored on the Southern Nevada Regulation Enforcement Memorial Ceremony at Las Vegas Metropolis Corridor.

Officers being honored come from businesses such because the FBI, Henderson Police Division, North Las Vegas Police Division, Union Pacific Railroad, Nye County Sheriff’s Workplace, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Division.

This yr, 4 new names had been added to the memorial wall, together with Nevada Freeway Patrol Trooper Micah David Might, who died on July 29, 2021.

  • Gerald Bear Smith, Pahrump Justice Court docket Baliff, who died on January 18, 2021.
  • LVMPD Officer Jason Swanger, who died on June 24, 2021.
