DENVER — Tevin Smith scored 23 factors as Denver beat Idaho 68-63 in a season opener on Monday evening.

Smith shot 8 of 15 from the sphere and 6 for 9 from the road for the Pioneers. Tommy Bruner shot 5 for 9, together with 1 for 3 from past the arc so as to add 12 factors. Lukas Kisunas completed 5 of 6 from the ground to complete with 11 factors, whereas including three blocks.
