National Weather Service issues ‘dangerous’ snow squall alert for most of eastern Idaho – East Idaho News
POCATELLO — The Nationwide Climate Service in Pocatello has issued a snow squall warning that is still in impact till 8:30 a.m. for the next areas:
- Southwestern Fremont County
- Southeastern Jefferson County
- Northwestern Bannock County
- Central Energy County
- Northwestern Bonneville County
- Western Madison County
- Central Bingham County
A harmful snow squall was positioned round 7:30 a.m. alongside a line extending from Menan to close Fort Corridor Bannock Creek Lodge, shifting northeast at 15 mph. Intense bursts of heavy snow and gusty winds are resulting in blowing snow and quickly falling visibility.
Harmful and life-threatening journey circumstances are anticipated to develop quickly within the warning space. Journey round and between Rexburg, Idaho Falls, INL, Blackfoot, Fort Corridor, Pocatello, and American Falls might be treacherous, the NWS warns.
Drivers are urged to decelerate and remember that fast adjustments in visibility are anticipated with this harmful snow squall.
