WAHA – The Idaho Division of Fish and Recreation is discontinuing its trial mountain lion searching route entry program on the Craig Mountain Wildlife Administration Space. The routes had been opened in the course of the 2021-2022 season with the objective of accelerating harvest of mountain lions on the WMA.
In line with the IDFG, no mountain lions had been harvested underneath the entry program.
The mountain lion searching routes supplied motorized entry into areas which might be usually closed to guard wintering elk and deer.
As a result of lack of mountain lion harvest underneath this program, the Idaho Division of Fish and Recreation has decided the extra disturbance to wintering wildlife isn’t well worth the continuation of this system.
Unit 11 will proceed to supply the chance to reap two mountain lions. Highway entry supplied earlier than the trial entry program will stay unchanged.
