Pasco man’s body recovered after Hawaii cliff diving incident

A cliff diver who went lacking and later died on the Hawaiian island of Kauai has been recognized as a Pasco County man.

Kauai Police stated Shane Uzzel, 39, of Hudson was discovered off the waters of Nawiliwili, on the island’s southeastern coast, at round 6 a.m. Friday. Uzzel had been lacking since 3:30 a.m. that morning, when a buddy informed police that he was cliff diving and swept out to sea.

A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crew noticed Uzzel’s physique about 50 to 60 yards offshore, and a Coast Guard cutter ship pulled him in. The crew administered first support and tried to revive Uzzel en path to a Coast Guard station and close by hospital emergency room. Uzzel was pronounced useless at 7:45 a.m. Friday.

Lifeguards and authorities from the Kauai Fireplace Division additionally participated within the search and rescue operation.
