‘Last fishing village in Hawaii’ keeps its title as new rules are adopted

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Milolii on the southwest coast of Hawaii Island is named the “Final Fishing Village in Hawaii.”

And it’ll preserve that title because of new guidelines adopted Thursday by the State Board of Land and Pure Sources.

In 2005, the legislature named Milolii Hawaii’s first “Group Based mostly Subsistence Fishing Space” and since then, the state’s been engaged on guidelines to protect the sources.
