Denver Nuggets Make Roster Move After 0-2 Start
The Denver Nuggets enter Monday’s game against the Toronto Raptors with an 0-2 record. Losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder and LA Clippers to start the NBA season, the Nuggets were unable to generate much offensively.
While it will be an adjustment period for the Nuggets as they implement Russell Westbrook and Dario Saric into the rotation, they certainly expect to play much better than they have so far.
Superstar center Nikola Jokic has started the season at an MVP level, averaging 28.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 8.5 assists, but the production outside of him has been inconsistent for Denver.
Prior to Monday’s game against the Raptors, the Nuggets made a roster move.
Via Harrison Wind of DNVR: “Nuggets have a clean injury report ahead of tonight’s matchup in Toronto other than DaRon Holmes. Denver also sent two-way players PJ Hall and Spencer Jones to the G League. Trey Alexander is still with the team.”
With the G League season beginning soon, organizations are sending players to their respective affiliates in order to begin preparing for the year down there. For the Nuggets, they have sent both Hall and Jones to the G League where they will play for the Grand Rapids Gold.
Looking to get in the win column on Monday, the Nuggets will have to take down the Raptors in Toronto.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Denver Nuggets: Game Preview, Betting Odds
The Brooklyn Nets’ difficult early-season schedule continues tonight when they face the Denver Nuggets and reigning MVP Nikola Jokic. Having just dispatched Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks in its home opener, Brooklyn looks to repeat Sunday night’s all-around performance against a Denver squad that’s hungry to lift its record back to .500.
The Nets enter the day as 5.5-point underdogs to the Nuggets, and the total over/under is 218.5 points.
1. Cam Thomas needs another 30-ball. Averaging 30.7 points through three contests on 47% shooting, Thomas’ scoring has been pivotal in the Nets’ early performances. Given that Brooklyn is still quite banged up and will be without Ben Simmons tonight, another offensive explosion will be needed to keep the score close.
2. Dennis Schröder must continue his hot start. Buried by Thomas’ jaw-dropping performances has been the ever-steady play from the Nets’ veteran point guard. Without Simmons, he’ll be facilitating the offense on his own against Denver. Albeit in a small sample size, since the beginning of the 2024-25 campaign Schröder is averaging a career-high 20.7 points nightly. If he and Thomas can combine for 50 points or more, Brooklyn will have a good shot at pulling off its second-straight upset.
3. Start Nic Claxton. A minutes restriction has hindered the Nets’ $100 million big man in the young season, but he looked worth every penny in the victory over the Bucks. Simmons’ injury costs Brooklyn another interior defender, and still without Day’Ron Sharpe’s services, the Nets cannot afford to limit Claxton’s plying time against Jokic.

Barclays Center – Brooklyn, NY
Following the Denver matchup, Brooklyn’s schedule gets slightly easier. They play a back-to-back on the road against the Memphis Grizzlies tomorrow at 8 p.m. before returning to the Barclays Center to take on the Chicago Bulls on Nov. 1. Then the Nets get the Detroit Pistons at home on Nov. 3 and a rematch with the Grizzlies in Memphis on Nov. 4.
Even if the Nets drop another game tonight, the four games that follow are all winnable.

Groups gather in Denver to celebrate 50th anniversary of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act
Monday marked 50 years since the signing of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and in Denver a series of groups met downtown to celebrate the anniversary.
The act made it illegal for banks to discriminate based on sex or marital status and was soon expanded to include race, religion, national origin, age and other groups. Part of the act allowed for women to take out a loan and get their own credit cards.
The celebration took place Monday at the Equitable Building and included members of the Denver Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Women’s Education Foundation and the nonprofit Project I See You.
“We are coming together with all of us — organizations, businesses, individuals — to say yes it’s been 50 years of women in ownership, but we want to see that continue on for way beyond 50,” said Mercy Tucker, founder and executive director of Project I See You.
In 1978 the Equitable Building was the site of one of the country’s first women’s banks where women could open a bank account without a male co-signer.
