Man witnessed people tackle car theft suspect in Colorado Springs after crash

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – On the southeast aspect of Colorado Springs, group members jumped into motion after a crash on Hutchinson Drive and East Fountain Boulevard.

The incident all started within the early afternoon hours on Thursday when somebody left their automobile stalling or puffing on Circle Drive. The suspect noticed this as a chance to drive off with the automobile. The automobile’s proprietor chased after the automobile on foot and that’s when police say the suspect hit one other automobile.

Police say the suspect is a 31-year-old man with a felony historical past involving automobiles.

After hitting one automobile, he reportedly saved driving and rear ended a second automobile.

Police inform us the suspect then begins doing donuts in a parking zone and hit a light-weight pole. He then hit a 3rd vehicle- the one up on the sidewalk.

The suspect then tried to run from the scene however some individuals within the space noticed what was occurring and caught the suspect. They held him till police bought there.

One witness, who noticed all of it go down, says he heard all of the screams after the crash.

The suspect is in police custody and no was injured in any of the crashes.
