Colorado cyclist perishes in fatal accident during Emporia’s UNBOUND Gravel

EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW) – A Colorado bike owner in Emporia’s UNBOUND Gravel died after a deadly crash on Friday night.

KVOE experiences that on Friday night, June 3, a Colorado man died following a deadly car vs. bicycle collision northwest of Emporia.

The Kansas Freeway Patrol indicated that simply after 5 p.m. on Friday, close to the intersection of Lyon Co. Rd. 190 and F., Gregory Bachman, 61, of Frisco Co., was headed northbound on Street F and entered the intersection when he was struck by a truck.

KHP famous that the truck, headed westbound, was a 2021 Chevy Silverado pushed by Cory Smith, 52, of Emporia.

Troopers mentioned Bachman was pronounced lifeless on the scene after the collision. He was carrying a helmet and was registered within the UNBOUND Gravel 200-mile race on Saturday.

UNBOUND spokesperson Jordan Titus advised KVOE that Lifetime – the race’s dad or mum firm – mentioned the occasion couldn’t share any additional particulars, however ideas and prayers are with Bachman’s household.
