Texas constable says he’s arming deputies with rifles: ‘Only thing criminals understand is strength’

With crime in opposition to residents and legislation enforcement on the rise, a Texas constable is taking motion, arguing liberal prosecutors have did not preserve the group protected. Harris County Precinct 4  Constable Mark Herman joined “Fox & Associates” to debate the choice to offer deputies extra AR-15 rifles.

“Simply in three years, Harris County has went to nearly the highest homicide price in the US due to these failed insurance policies,” he stated telling host Steve Doocy “these insurance policies have emboldened criminals.”

The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable posted on Fb Sunday: “Harris County has turn out to be the county of little or no consequence in terms of committing violent crimes in opposition to residents or attacking legislation enforcement,” he stated. “The present insurance policies implement[ed] by some Judges has emboldened suspected criminals to go proper again out and commit extra crimes.”

When requested by a commenter why the weapons are vital, Herman replied: “Our deputy Atkins was murdered with one. The criminals have them so will we.”

Pct. 4 Constable Deputy Kareem Atkins was killed in an October 2021 ambush assault whereas working an off-duty job. Two different deputies – 28-year-old Darryl Garrett and 26-year-old Juqaim Barthen – had been wounded within the taking pictures.

Herman praised Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick for standing with legislation enforcement, calling out liberal prosecutors for tender bail insurance policies which have “emboldened” criminals.

“[Suspects] are getting out of jail earlier than our deputies even completed their paperwork and more often than not after they get out there may be little or no bond in anyway, they only launch them again out.”

Herman stated different police officers across the state are following his lead on giving officers extra firepower.

“The one factor criminals perceive is energy in opposition to energy and legislation enforcement is extra highly effective,” he stated.
