Brothers struck, 1 fatally, by stolen vehicle suspect in Koreatown

Police are trying to find a stolen automobile suspect who crashed into two bicyclists, killing one, in Koreatown Tuesday morning.

The crash was reported about 3:40 a.m. within the 900 block of South Mariposa Avenue.

Officers had been initially responding to a grand theft auto investigation after they discovered two hit-and-run victims down on the scene, Los Angeles Police Division Capt. Anthony Otero stated.

Investigators imagine the driving force who struck them had taken a white pickup truck that was parked on Olympic Boulevard after which hit the 2 bicyclists as he was pulling away.

One of many victims was pronounced lifeless following the collision, Otero stated. The second sufferer was taken to a hospital and was listed in secure situation.

The victims haven’t been recognized however Otero stated they had been brothers who had been driving to work after they had been struck.

“It’s actually unlucky. These two people simply attempting to go to work within the morning,” Otero stated.

The suspect fled the scene within the stolen truck following the crash and remains to be excellent.

Witnesses on the scene advised KTLA the suspect might have been caught tagging and was attempting to get away when he hit the brothers. Investigators haven’t confirmed the witness data.
