Authorities shoot, kill alleged bank robber after pursuit ends in San Bernardino: SBCSD

Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Division and officers from the Colton Police Division opened fireplace on an alleged financial institution robber in San Bernardino on Thursday afternoon, killing the individual.

The incident started at about 3:45 p.m. as a pursuit of a financial institution theft suspect after SBCSD deputies responded to an alarm at a closed financial institution in Grand Terrace, then CPD officers responded to a financial institution theft of their jurisdiction, SBCSD spokesperson Mara Rodriguez stated in an e-mail.

Public Data Officer Huerta of the SBCSD stated the Grand Terrace financial institution is positioned within the 22300 block of Barton Street.

Police and deputies pursued the alleged robber’s car to West Fifth Avenue and North D Avenue in San Bernardino, the place the pursuit ended, Rodriguez stated.

Aerial footage from Sky5 confirmed {that a} dark-colored compact automobile collided with a County of San Bernardino truck close to that location.

The alleged robber “was armed and opened fireplace on legislation enforcement personnel,” Rodriguez stated.
