WEST VIRGINIA (WOAY)- Gas prices are up 2.8 cents per gallon on average this week, with the average price at $3.00 per gallon.
The cheapest gallon of gas costs $2.55, and the most expensive gallon is $4.51. The national average has risen 2.2 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.11.
The national average is unchanged since a month ago and stands 16.5 cents lower than a year ago. The increase primarily comes from refinery maintenance and outages have created a ripple effect.
According to Gasbuddy’s head of petroleum analysis, while most of the country has had a quiet week for gas prices, the West Coast has seen rapid increases.
Meanwhile, the oil prices remained subtle in the low $70s range as President Trump works on a potential peace deal with Ukraine and Russia.
If that happens, it could have a major impact on the oil markets in the months ahead.
