SAN ANTONIO — A number of San Antonio struggle veterans on Thursday are headed to Washington D.C. to see the memorials of the wars they fought in a few years in the past.
On the distinction flight, there can be three World Conflict II veterans, 5 Korean Conflict veterans, 12 Vietnam Conflict veterans, one three struggle hero veteran and 5 Purple Coronary heart recipients. After leaving D.C., the veterans will return again to San Antonio with a celebration to honor them.
One veteran who can be boarding the flight stated he by no means obtained a welcome again after leaving the Vietnam Conflict 5 a long time in the past.
That is the primary flight again to D.C. since COVID began. Honor Flight San Antonio didn’t need to danger the well being of the veterans, so the flights had been paused.
