Help us show how climate change is impacting Texans
Scientists warned governments virtually 20 years in the past that local weather change would have drastic and devastating penalties on individuals world wide. Now, as the consequences of local weather change seep into the every day lives of Texans, we need to hear from you.
Within the early 2000s, scientists convened by the Intergovernmental Panel on Local weather Change warned that just a few levels or extra of elevated common temperatures would improve meals costs globally, rising the danger of starvation. They predicted stronger hurricanes and better storm surges, charged by hotter and rising seas, and a surge in vector-borne illnesses as hotter temperatures allowed ticks and mosquitos to increase their vary. Additionally they warned of higher warmth stress on our our bodies, extra water-borne pathogens in our water, rising sea ranges waterlogging low-lying coastal areas and higher strains on all facets of human infrastructure.
We need to doc the place these results are taking place in Texas and the way communities are adapting. We need to know what Texans assume the federal, state and native authorities can and may do to assist — and what your households and neighborhoods are already doing.
