Barnacle-covered dolls wash up on Texas shore
PORT ARANSAS, Texas (KXAN) — Their origins unknown, barnacle-covered dolls proceed to look alongside the Texas shores at Port Aransas, and researchers there are documenting it for all to see.
The primary doll washed ashore in January 2021, dubbed by the Mission-Aransas Nationwide Estuarine Analysis Reserve as “the craziest seashore discover of all time.” And but, the craziness has continued.

Researchers instructed the Fort Price Star-Telegram roughly 30 dolls have been collected in over a 12 months. The dolls arrive coated in barnacles, lacking limbs and a few stained inexperienced on account of algae.
Whereas crews are stationed alongside Port Aransas particularly for analysis on coastal ecosystems, they’ve added a little bit of levity — and thriller — to their work, Mission-Aransas Reserve Director Jace Tunnell instructed the Star-Telegram.
“Daily is one thing new,” he stated. “Simply while you assume you’ve discovered every little thing that might probably wash up on shore, one thing else comes up.”
