At least 11 people have been hospitalized after a shooting near a boat dock in a South Carolina beach town on Memorial Day weekend.
Paramedics and private vehicles rushed victims to local hospitals after gunfire broke out in Watson Avenue in Little River, about 20 miles north of Myrtle Beach, about 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
A North Myrtle Beach police officer responding to the shooting accidentally shot himself in the leg at a marina about 3 miles away and is in the hospital in stable condition, North Myrtle Beach spokeswoman Lauren Jessie told the Associated Press.
