The Rays are handing the keys over to the youngest fans for the day with family-fun activities throughout the game, including interviewing players, broadcasting, on-ice activities, controlling the video board, and more. Plus a youth CHS jersey giveaway to the first 1,000 fans 12 years and under.

Every Sunday is Family Sunday, presented by Crews Subaru and Charleston County Parks and Recreation. Kids in attendance can go on the ice to take a postgame slapshot!

South Carolina Tops Jacksonville 3-1 for Third Straight Win

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – In the final game of a three-game weekend, two third period goals lifted the South Carolina Stingrays past the Jacksonville Icemen, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon at the North Charleston Coliseum in front of 6,073 fans.

South Carolina (30-17-1-0) got off to another quick start for the second straight night. Just over nine minutes into the first period, Kaden Bohlsen blasted home a one-timer off a feed from Stanley Cooley to give the Stingrays a 1-0 lead.

Jacksonville (19-24-4-0) could not figure out goaltender Seth Eisele in the opening period but found the equalizer early in the second.

Just 37 seconds into the middle frame, Christopher Brown banked a shot off the post to tie the game at one. After Brown’s goal, the Stingrays applied steady pressure and outshot the Icemen in the second period, but the teams entered the third still deadlocked.

Coming out of the second intermission, South Carolina regained the lead less than 90 seconds into the third period. Lynden Breen found Simon Pinard in the high slot, and Pinard wired home the go-ahead goal.

Leading 2-1, South Carolina limited Jacksonville’s chances over the final 18 minutes. The Icemen managed just seven shots on goal the rest of regulation, as Eisele turned aside each one. In the closing seconds, Ludwig Persson tapped in an empty-netter to seal the 3-1 victory for South Carolina.

Eisele earned his third win of the weekend saving 21 shots on 22 attempts while Pinard extended his point streak to eleven games with his game-winning goal.

The Tide defeated the Gamecocks in authoritative fashion on Saturday night.

Alabama defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks by a score of 89-75 on Saturday evening.

The Tide earned a fourth consecutive victory with their win over the Gamecocks. Alabama shot lights out from behind the arc, as the team as a whole shot an impressive 48% from the field including a scorching 41% from behind the arc.

The Tide officially now hold an 8-4 record throughout the first half of SEC play, as a multitude of playmakers continue to play at a high level on a nightly basis.

Here are three takeaways from Alabama’s authoritative win over South Carolina.

Aden Holloway explodes in second half, records 20 points and four rebounds

Holloway was nothing short of elite during the second half of Saturday night’s contest. The star guard recorded 20 points on 6-of-9 shooting despite struggling in the first half, as Holloway played a crucial role on the offensive end of the floor down the stretch. The talented guard was credited with four free throws, a layup, and a three pointer in the final 2:13 of play, as Holloway continues to play a pivotal role in the Tide’s backcourt this season.

Latrell Wrightsell shines off bench, scores 19 total points

Wrightsell has emerged as a top three-point shooter in all of college basketball when fully healthy. The senior recorded 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting, as Wrightsell has been red hot from deep during the Tide’s four-game win streak. The star sharpshooter appears to be fully healthy following a multitude of injuries earlier in the season, as Wrightsell’s performance against the Gamecocks was spectacular.

Labaron Philon continues to dominate, scores 19 points on 5-of-8 shooting

Philon has been widely regarded as a top player in all of college basketball this season. The star guard recorded 19 points on an efficient 5-of-8 shooting on Saturday night, as Philon continues to thrive on the offensive end of the floor this season. The talented sophomore currently averages an impressive 21.4 points per game on 50.4% shooting, as the Tide as a whole have been red hot from deep as of late.

Alabama will host the Arkansas Razorbacks at Coleman Coliseum on Wednesday night, as the Tide will look to go 9-4 in SEC play.

When is College Gameday for South Carolina vs LSU on today? Time, TV schedule

College GameDay is set to televise on Feb. 14 in Baton Rouge ahead of South Carolina women’s basketball’s game at LSU.

The women’s college basketball version of ESPN’s pregame show will be on-site for the prime-time showdown on ABC. Christine Williamson, Andraya Carter and Chiney Ogwumike will preview the game between the No. 3 Gamecocks and No. 6 Tigers.

LSU and South Carolina’s rivalry is renewed for the first time on Feb. 14 for the only regular-season matchup between the two SEC powers this season. The rivalry features two of the sport’s top coaches, South Carolina’s Dawn Staley and LSU’s Kim Mulkey.
