Gamecocks lose two veterans from offense to transfer portal
An offensive lineman and one other broad receiver for South Carolina soccer will depart Shane Beamer’s program.
Fifth-year deal with Jazston Turnetine entered his identify into the switch portal, the varsity confirmed Friday. On3’s Matt Zenitz was the first to report the news.
The 6-foot-7, 338-pound deal with performed in 11 video games in 2021 for South Carolina and began seven of these. He didn’t play within the season’s remaining two video games towards Clemson or UNC.
Turnetine logged 10 profession begins at left deal with for the Gamecocks. He’s the primary offensive lineman from the 2021 group to depart since spring follow, as fellow offensive lineman Vincent Murphy introduced his departure again in December.
Extensive receiver Trey Adkins introduced his entry into the switch portal in a tweet Friday. The 5-foot-11, 182-pound cross catcher totaled two receptions for 20 yards in 2021 and logged seven catches all through his profession with South Carolina.
Adkins wrote in a put up that he’ll be transferring as a graduate with two years of eligibility remaining. He’s the fourth broad receiver to depart the Gamecocks since spring follow ended.
