Hundreds of people braved cold temperatures and even colder water as they supported Special Olympics Saturday morning.

The organization hosts Polar Plunges every year across the state to help raise awareness for Special Olympics Oklahoma.

Each person got at least $75 in pledges before taking an icy dip at Paradise Beach in Tulsa.

“When I jumped in, when I went in I couldn’t feel my hands,” said one participant. “I’ve been pretty numb for the last 10 minutes, but honestly, it wasn’t too bad”

Money raised will support more than 12,000 Special Olympics athletes in Oklahoma.
