TAMPA – Wisconsin’s staff added another player from the transfer portal on Friday.

Running back Tawee Walker, who played the last two seasons at Oklahoma, announced his commitment on social media.

Walker, who played one season at Palomar Junior College in California, has one season of eligibility remaining.

Including Walker, UW is adding four running backs for next season. The Badgers signed three earlier this month and Chez Mellusi announced recently he is returning to UW for his final season.

Mellusi missed the final eight regular-season games after suffering a broken leg at Purdue.

Barring a departure that has yet to be announced, UW will have eight scholarship running backs on the roster next year.

That list includes Jackson Acker and Cade Yacamelli, who are set to play Monday in the ReliaQuest Bowl, and freshman Nate White of Milwaukee King. White has not played this season.

Walker, 5-foot-9 and 216 pounds, rushed 18 times for 62 yards in 11 games in his first season at Oklahoma. He rushed 102 times for 513 yards and seven touchdowns this season. He gained 17 yards on seven carries in the Sooners’ 38-24 loss to Arizona Thursday night in the Alamo Bowl.
