SPRING HOPE, N.C. — Development has kicked off on what would be the largest movie studio in North Carolina.

Ascent Studios will likely be situated within the Nash County city of Spring Hope, about 35 minutes east of Raleigh. The studio will span greater than 200 acres at 556 Barbee St. and have 5 manufacturing levels totaling 170,000 sq. ft. The land additionally has exterior pictures for fields, forests, roads, barns, lakes and manors.
