Eastern North Carolina marks 11 years since deadly tornado outbreak – WWAYTV3
(WWAY) — It’s been 11 years because the biggest one-day twister outbreak on report for North Carolina.
30 tornadoes touched down on April 16, 2011, with 13 of these being categorized as robust (EF2 or higher).
In all, 24 individuals died throughout North Carolina with greater than 400 accidents being reported, and over 900 properties and companies being destroyed.
The Cape Concern noticed a number of tornadoes on that day.
The strongest being two separate EF2 tornadoes that tracked throughout parts of Bladen County, killing a mixed 4 individuals.
