Mississippi Children’s Museum of Meridian’s Magic Monday: Hello Fall

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) – The Mississippi Children’s Museum of Meridian brings back Magic Monday for this week and next.

The museum is usually closed on Monday, but since fall break is upon us for each school district, Magic Monday will be happening for kids on break.

There were multiple hands-on activities such as Fall Wreath, Games in the Garden, Mosaic Pumpkins and more.

“Have a theme for today and it is hello fall because we’re getting in that into that time of year and so we will be making paper bags scarecrows. They’re making fall wreaths, mosaic pumpkins and one of my favorites is the science experiment that we’re doing to see whether pumpkin sink or float,” said Melinda Goff.

Georgia opens as massive home favorites against Mississippi State

The Georgia Bulldogs host the Mississippi State Bulldogs in Week 7. The Georgia versus Mississippi State game will be played Oct. 12 at 4:15 p.m. ET and is scheduled to be televised on SEC Network.

Georgia is coming off a comfortable 31-13 win over the Auburn Tigers. Georgia is 4-1 and 2-1 in the SEC. Georgia has not lost at home since 2019. The Bulldogs host Mississippi State, who is 1-4 and is 0-2 in SEC play. Mississippi State is second-to-last in the SEC standings.

Mississippi State represents a trap game for Georgia. The Bulldogs are massive underdogs at UGA, but Georgia could be looking ahead to an Oct. 19 game against the Texas Longhorns.

Here’s the latest point spread, money line odds and over/under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the best bet.

Quarterback Carson Beck is the Georgia Bulldogs’ most important player. Beck has the fifth-best QBR in the SEC at 81.7. He is a potential No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft and if he can avoid turnovers against Mississippi State, then it is hard to envision Mississippi State pulling off an upset.

Defensively, Georgia needs defensive end Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins to continue his strong play. The junior has three sacks and 10 tackles through five games.

Advice and prediction

Georgia 38, Mississippi State 17

This is too many points for Georgia to cover against an SEC opponent. UGA will look to save some good plays for the Texas game and will try to beat Mississippi State without using its full playbook.

A family of 4? This is (about) how much it’ll cost to visit the Mississippi State Fair

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – We’re on your side exploring the costs of visiting the Mississippi State Fair as a family of four.

You can park for free this year, but it’ll cost you $10 to get in – unless your child is under the age of five.

For a family of four, that would be $40.

Most kids can’t visit the fair without riding some rides, each one taking around 9-15 tickets. Different ticket packages are offered.

Want to get some lemonade? It’ll be from $7-$10 depending on what size cup you buy. You may be able to get one free refill.

Georgia Football Looks to Extend Win Streak Against Mississippi State

The Georgia Bulldogs will look to continue their impressive win streak against the Mississippi State Bulldogs this Saturday.

The Georgia Bulldogs will once again be in action this Saturday as they play host to a fellow SEC opponent, the Mississippi State Bulldogs. This will be the 27th meeting in a series that Georgia commands 20-6.

Though these two programs have not met with great frequency, the Bulldogs in Red and Black have controlled this series and have won 13 of the last 14 contests. During that time, the Dawgs have amassed an impressive five-game win streak over State, which dates back to 2011.

The Bulldogs will look to add their sixth consecutive victory over Mississippi State this Saturday in Athens. Kickoff is currently scheduled for 4:15 p.m. and will air on SEC Network.
