Miami, FL
Tuesday Headlines: Miami Gameday Edition
It’s going to be a big night at Rupp Arena tonight as the #12 Kentucky Wildcats play host to the #8 Miami Hurricanes as part of the SEC/ACC Challenge.
Miami, coming off a Final Four run last year, has been off to a hot start this season, winning their first five, with the last game being a 91-83 win over Kansas State.
So far this season, Miami has made its living from beyond the arc, shooting 45.8% from three, which is the best in the country on 23.6 attempts per game.
And while Miami’s shooting ability is what jumps off the paper, you can’t overlook the man in the middle, Norchad Omier, who is averaging about 16 points and nine rebounds per game.
With a limited frontcourt, Kentucky will have to find a way to keep Omier in check while also making sure the guys on the perimeter aren’t getting open looks.
It’s not going to be an easy task, but if the Cats can come away with a win tonight, it would be a major resume booster come March while also giving the team some momentum heading into the home stretch of the non-conference slate.
The Cats and the Hurricanes are scheduled to tip off at 7:30 ET on ESPN.
