David Beckham and Tom Brady Pose with Lionel Messi at Inter Miami Game: 'The Greatest'

Three sports legends walk into a soccer game…

On Saturday, Aug. 24, David Beckham shared a photo on Instagram of himself, Leo Messi and Tom Brady posing together at the Inter Miami CF game against FC Cincinnati.Β

“THE GREATEST 🐐 🐐 doesn’t get any better 🩷🩷,” Beckham, 49, wrote in the post’s caption. β€œ@leomessi @tombrady to watch us go into the playoffs @intermiamicf πŸ‡¦πŸ‡· & πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ xx.”

In the photo, Beckham is wearing a navy blue suit with a matching tie and a light blue button-up shirt. The former quarterback shared the photo on his Instagram Stories the next day, writing, “I’m bringing @leomessi back to Birmingham with me.”

Beckham, who is co-owner of Inter Miami, welcomed Messi to the team last July.Β

“Ten years ago, I started my journey to build a new MLS team,” Beckham said at an event at the time, per ESPN. “I said then, I dreamt of bringing the best players in the world to South Florida and to the great city of Miami. Players who shared our ambition to grow soccer in this country … We are so happy that you are all here to celebrate this incredible moment.”

He continued, “So please forgive me for feeling a little bit emotional tonight. It truly is a dream come true to welcome Lionel Messi to Inter Miami … Bienvenido a La Familia.”

Messi expressed his gratitude for being a part of the team at the time. “I am very happy to have chosen to come to this city with my family, to have chosen this project, and I have no doubt that we are going to enjoy it very much,” he said in a speech at the event, per ESPN.

The soccer player has been benched since July 14, when he injured his ligament during the Copa AmΓ©rica final, but it was recently reported by ESPN that he is expected to make his return to the field before playoffs begin in October.

Inter Miami head coach Gerardo Martino recently spoke about Messi’s healing process, saying in a recent press conference, per ESPN, “He is not training with the group. But yes, he is already out on the field and working with the physical trainers.”

Martino added, “He is developing well, it was foreseeable that he would not be with Argentina because he is not yet in a position to play, but we continue to see him develop. There is no estimate, because you are already starting to see how you feel as you add training on the field.”

Girl, 12, shot while sitting in parked car in northwest Miami-Dade, deputies say

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. β€” A 12-year-old girl was shot in the arm after gunfire erupted in a northwest Miami-Dade neighborhood early Tuesday morning, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they responded just before 1 a.m. to the area of Northwest 64th Street and Northwest 21st Avenue in the county’s Gladeview area, where they found three vehicles struck by gunfire, including a silver Hyundai.

β€œThe car was parked outside of the residence. It was occupied by three juveniles, so it was the girl and her two siblings that were in the vehicle. The mom was outside of the vehicle at the time, so this could have been a very different outcome,” MDSO Detective Samantha Choon said.

Authorities said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue medics transported the girl to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

A family member of the victim told Local 10’s Jackie Pascale that the girl is now home and doing OK.

They said neither her siblings nor their mother was injured in the shooting.

According to investigators, no arrests have been made, and detectives have not released any suspect information at this time.

Neighbor Marie Grimes said she was shaken after hearing multiple gunshots.

β€œI heard the booms β€” boom, boom, boom, boom β€” and I said, β€˜Oh my God, what’s happening?’” she said. β€œMaybe five or six, ’cause look at that right there. I’m just glad the little girl is OK.”

Investigators asked neighbors to check their surveillance or Ring camera footage from around 1 a.m. and contact authorities with any information.

Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477. Anonymous tips are accepted.

3 hurt in fire on Lincoln Road that started underground

Three people were hurt after a building caught fire on Lincoln Road on Sunday, according to authorities.

The Miami Beach Fire Department said it was working a fire near 230 Lincoln Road.

The flames had spread from a fire in a manhole that “ignited an FPL vault of an adjacent building,” officials said.

Three people were taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center with minor injuries.

The building was evacuated, and FPL has shut off power to the surrounding area, the fire department said.
