Univ. of Maryland BioPark to add $320M development at MLK Boulevard

BALTIMORE — The College of Maryland BioPark in West Baltimore will break floor this fall on a $320 million mission that will carry extra laboratory and workplace area to the realm.

UMB introduced immediately that the primary section will probably be an eight-story, 250,000-square-foot constructing on the intersection of MLK Boulevard and Baltimore Avenue.

The constructing, referred to as “4MLK,” is being constructed by Wexford Science & Know-how, LLC, may even function a public plaza and “activated streetscape with retail and meals and beverage venues alongside Baltimore Avenue and MLK Blvd.”

The constructing will provide area for moist laboratories, places of work, and group occasions. It’s set to open in 2024.

Maryland Commerce Secretary Mike Gill stated in an announcement:

“By the brand new 4MLK growth, the UM BioPark will proceed to have a transformational influence on the life sciences, not simply in Baltimore however throughout Maryland.
