Rainy stretch starts Wednesday in Maryland
BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Updated 7 a.m. June 21 — An unsettled pattern begins in Maryland today.
Wednesday begins mostly cloudy, breezy, and cool with highs in the low 70s. Plan on light rain arriving during the afternoon and continuing through the evening.
Wednesday is also the summer solstice. This means the northern hemisphere ends up with the maximum amount of daylight.
Expect more rain on Thursday and temperatures in the low 70s once again.
Temperatures warm into the mid and upper 80s this weekend, but the daily rain chance continues. Friday through Sunday comes with a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms.
The rainy pattern will not end there. The upcoming workweek will start with showers and storms on Monday and Tuesday.
Marylanders could see several inches of rain over the next week, which the help to improve drought conditions around the state.
