Maryland man killed in motorcycle crash in Northwest DC
WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C. police said a motorcyclist died after he was thrown off his bike during a crash in Northwest on June 27.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), the crash happened around 9:40 a.m. when 33-year-old Marvin Anthony Williams, of Fairmount Heights, Maryland, was riding a motorcycle in the 500 block of Eastern Avenue, Northwest. Police said he was allegedly speeding when he tried to pass a Honda Civic in front of him.
As Williams approached the passenger side of the car, he hit the side mirror and lost control.
According to investigators, he ejected off the bike, slid, and hit a parked car.
Williams was rushed to the hospital, where he died.
Police said the driver of the Honda remained at the scene and cooperated with officers.
