Authorities said they attempted to stop White from driving away but he drove off heading northbound on Interstate 270.
Officers initiated a brief pursuit but White ultimately crashed on I-270, south of Route 28 and he was ejected from his vehicle, Montgomery County police said. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
White reportedly collided with another vehicle, sending that driver to a local hospital with minor injuries.
