Heavy rains and a possible tornado that rolled across the area on Saturday morning have once again caused flooding and wind damage for areas that have already suffered.

Hickman County and the City of Clinton have declared a State of Emergency due to damage from the early morning storms. A tornado warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Paducah. As the storm passed, emergency crews responded to the eastern portion of the county and the community of Moscow.

Justin Jackson with Hickman County Emergency Management reported two commercial buildings with damage, one of those on Clay Street in Clinton partially collapsed. A commercial grain bin was destroyed and there was damage to homes, trees, and power lines. All power has reportedly been restored.

A debrief with investigators from the National Weather Service believe it is possible that an EF1 tornado with winds about 95 miles per hour touched down east of Highway 307 near Wilson Road.

In an earlier update from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, it looks like the city of Hickman was affected as well. Trees and utility lines were reported down, even damaging the home of a member of the Fulton County Highway Maintenance Crew. KYTC crews had to clear trees and debris from roads leading into Hickman so utility and emergency crews could access the city.

Trees and some utility lines have been reported down in Graves County, too. Water over the road is still a possibility in some places, but reportedly most of the water has receded.
