A teenager is in custody in connection with the fatal April shooting of another teen in southeast Oak Cliff, Dallas police say.
Officers took a 16-year-old boy into custody Saturday, police said Tuesday. He faces a murder charge in the fatal shooting of Javarius Davidson, 16.
Police responded a little after 8 p.m. April 13 to a shooting call in the 5800 block of Highland Hills Drive, near Bonnie View Road, and found Davidson wounded. Dallas Fire-Rescue took him to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Police believe a group of people — including Davidson, a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old — was involved in an argument. A short time later, Davidson and the two teens were walking in the street when someone shot at them and fled. The two other teens were not injured.
The suspect’s name was not released because of his age, and no additional information was immediately available.
Dallas police also said Tuesday that three other teens were taken into custody in two other fatal shootings.
A 15-year-old boy was taken into custody in the fatal shooting of a 50-year-old man in east Oak Cliff. Two boys, ages 13 and 16, were taken into custody in the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man at a South Dallas park.
