APD bomb squad responds to incident in southwest Austin
AUSTIN, Texas – The Austin Police Department bomb squad is responding to an incident in Southwest Austin.
Police said around 2:10 p.m., on Tuesday, March 12, the bomb squad responded to a bomb threat call in the 4800 block of Republic of Texas Blvd.
The scene is active while law enforcement responds.
Police are asking people to avoid the area and to remain inside their homes or buildings.

Barton Springs Pool to reopen June 23
AUSTIN, Texas – Barton Springs Pool will reopen to visitors this week.

The City of Austin said the pool will reopen on Tuesday, June 23, for the early morning regularly scheduled “swim at your own risk.”
The pool had closed on June 15 due to severe weather.
City staff removed large tree branches, aluminum cans, fishing hooks, and other debris from the water.
The team also cleaned off decks and reinstalled the diving board in preparation for the pool’s reopening.
